The Finback brooch is inspired by the Fin Whale and its environment. This statement piece is crafted entirely by hand using the two resist techniques of batik/sgraffito and shibori to achieve both pattern and depth of colour. Each piece is lacquered to a high gloss durable sheen and due to the variations in shibori patterning is naturally one-of-a-kind. Please expect variations in hue- it’s part of the beauty and uniqueness of these processes!
